A severe storm cell which swept across the region last Wednesday left a trail of destruction which could take months to repair.
A massive hail storm and torrential rain which dumped more than 90mm of rain in some areas — much of it in less than an hour — saw runoff overwhelm drains causing flash flooding at Oakbank and Balhannah. Homes between the two towns were particularly vulnerable as the Onkaparinga Valley Road funnelled water pouring off nearby streets and paddocks, with home owners on the lower side of the road powerless to control the inundation.
